How to make shampoo at home

Today, most hygiene products contain a wide variety of chemicals and are synthetic. So they are not very healthy for your body, hair, nails, etc. Many of these products can go into the pores and bloodstream. If you want a natural alternative to shampoo, read the following tips on how you can make it yourself at home.

Natural shampoo from vinegar and baking soda

Organic shampoos are made from plants and natural ingredients. Their scents come from essential oils, but they can be very expensive. However, we have another solution so you don’t have to worry about the price, namely, we bring back the means our ancestors used for hygiene and health.

For example, apple cider vinegar and baking soda can cleanse your hair and scalp in just a few minutes and achieve great results.  You can also add certain essential oils to mask the strong smell of vinegar. Each essential oil works differently: tea tree oil works well for dandruff, rosemary oil works for broken and loose hair, and lavender oil relaxes the scalp.

making your own shampoo

Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with a glass of warm water until it is well dissolved. Pour the mixture into an empty plastic bottle (for example, an empty, washed shampoo bottle). If your hair is easily greasy, put a little more baking soda. Mix 2 dl of apple cider vinegar and 2 dl of warm water in another bottle. This is a conditioner.

Moisten your hair and gently rub the first mixture into your hair. Rinse with warm water. You may find that your hair is a little dry. Don’t worry, the conditioner will help keep the pH in balance. Add the conditioner in the same way, leave on for a few minutes and rinse.

Keep in mind that during the first few days or even weeks of using this shampoo and conditioner, your hair will need to adapt to this new style of washing and provide new protection. Your hair may be more greasy than usual or may have dandruff in the first few weeks. Be patient as your hair will become even healthier.

Aloe Vera shampoo

Aloe Vera is an amazing plant with skin softening properties. For this reason, it is often used as a basis for natural shampoo recipes.

You will need four different ingredients for this shampoo: glycerin (5 ml), aloe Vera gel (tablespoon), olive oil soap (60 ml) and vegetable oil (1 ml). These ingredients are usually found in health food stores. Aloe vera can be taken with a spoon directly from the plant. Cut one leaf and separate the two parts lengthwise.
